I’ve been banished to my computer room. I’m even locked in.
While in town today the older girls took off to buy some Mother’s Day gifts. With perfect timing we ended up at the cash registers together. They all squealed “Don’t look, Mom!” It made those standing in line in front of them start laughing. I had to find a different register to use, give the girls the keys to the suburban, and wait for them to hide the goods before I could unload my cart. As soon as we arrived home they banished me.
“Go work on the computer! And don’t come out for several hours! We’ve got dinner under control. We’ll even watch Special Dark for you.”
So here I am. I can hear chairs scraping across the kitchen floor, lots of giggling, a little fighting, and every now and then a whiff of chicken and rice comes seeping under the door. I think I can also smell a hint of some chocolate cupcakes.
And it’s not even Mother’s Day yet.
