I created a poll in my sidebar. If you could please take a minute to answer it I’d appreciate it! A couple of people have said they are having trouble reading the posts because the words are on the dark brown. I’ve looked at the blog with Internet Explorer and Firefox, even tried adjusting the resolution of my screen but everything looks right to me. How does it look to you?
If it doesn’t look right do you mind telling me what browser and operating system you are using?
THANKS!
I see the words on the dark brown. I’m using internet explorer and vista. It might have something to do with the monitor resolution settings too.
Ok, I tried out the monitor resolution and found that if my resolution is set at 1024×768, the text is in the correct place. However, if the resolution is set at a wider width (1280), the text is in the dark brown.
Yeah I see it on the dark brown too, but my monitor is really big – 20″ diagonally – so I think that might cause it. I might be able to see posts properly on my monitor at home, which is much smaller.
looks good to me! i use firefox.
About an inch of text on both sides goes on the brown ribbon for me. I am using internet explorer and XP,
I voted!
Will there ever be a tutorial on how to do something with margins? Mine is now all sort of bunched up.
I use XP and have a widescreen monitor. I suspect it’s my resolution too. Will check it out later.
I see the words in dark brown, but the header is off center… too far right. I don’t see any dark brown in the body or down the sides. I’m on firefox on a Mac.
I’m using Internet Explorer and everything is shifted too far to the left so I can barely read your posts, which is a shame because I love yours posts.
It looks great to me! I use Internet Explorer and Vista and have a wide screen monitor. Good luck with it all! 🙂
Same deal as “the gooch family”. I have even tried to view it on the Mac and it’s not any better. I just highlight the post and read it through that. It helps tons!
It displays ok if I don’t maximize the window (I have a widescreen too)
Once I do, it pulls the word outward on both margins.
I am using IE8(beta) and Firefox. I think that it comes down to resolution settings. It’s off on both for me, but I’m using a widescreen monitor. (I normally just read via RSS.)
uh…ditto to Mrs. Organic
I’m reading on Firefox, and the only reason I could even read the post is that I started it in my reader. As soon as I clicked to your page, your header is off-center, and your posts are far to the left, and your sidebar is far to the right, and there’s a big gap in the middle. I wonder if it has to do with the configuration of the monitor — wide screen vs. standard?
I’ll try to take the poll if I can read the options.
(PS with the last iteration of your look, I had no troubles reading at all, on this very same computer. Perhaps if you can revert to prior settings, you can see what is different in the code in terms of scale?)
I still can’t read on the ribbons. It too dark brown. I’m using firefox.
