WAITING
Reasons I haven’t blogged since Thursday:
1. Friday Mr. Ferrero Rocher and I spent the day in Reno while all the chocolate chips played with cousins in Fallon. We were able to go to the temple, get some shopping done, and eat at one of my favorite restaurants, The Olive Garden. I ate crow. Not at the restaurant but in Fallon. The cousins there had a zip line set up. It’s only 28 feet up in the air. I was all hoity toity saying I’d do it no problem, blah, blah, blah. We drove up to the zip line where I watched all the kids including four of my own take their turn. I climbed the ladder and never got past the top rung. I have this little fear of heights problem that caused my legs and hands to shake uncontrollably. I COULD NOT take the last step onto the platform to ride the zip line. Mr. FR was even there offering me his hand and everything and I couldn’t do it. So Ms. Hoity Toity slowly climbed her shaky self back down the ladder and submitted to all the teasing for the remainder of the day. Mr. FR was the main instigator of the jokes of course. And I couldn’t even get mad because I totally deserved it.
2. Recovering from our trip took most of Saturday. Then I went in to take photos of a wedding reception at the church where the lighting was absolutely terrible. I had to set the ISO all the way to 1600, use my photo filter to compensate for the horrible florescent church lighting, and hold the camera as steady as possible. The flash was no help at all. It actually made the pictures worse! I got a few good photos but man I hope that I can figure out what to do better in case there is ever a next time. UGH!
3. Church on Sunday is from 11am – 2pm. It takes us most of the morning to get ready and be out the door by 10:15 in order to make it there on time. Truffle had some chicken noodle soup and homemade bread sticks on the menu. That always takes a little while but is so worth it. YUM! I’ll be posting the bread stick recipe soon.
GOOD THINGS
1.I’ll be holding a contest sometime this week.
2. I have a few things up my sleeve for this blog. I am trying to get on somewhat of a schedule before school starts up in a few weeks so that I don’t feel like I’m dog paddling along. Each day will be geared toward a certain topic:
Sunday – Family Home Evening Lessons. I was in charge of a FHE Enrichment group last year that involved family home evenings lessons. I’ve also participated in three FHE swaps. I have so many great lessons to share that I’ve decided to post them on Sundays so there is time on Monday to gather supplies if you feel so inclined to use the lesson.
Monday – Cranial Hiccups. Just my day to ramble on anything that happens to catch my fancy.
Tuesday – Spotlight. A chance to share a favorite blog, etsy shop, or other cool website.
Wednesday – Wordless Wednesday and Wordfull Wednesday. The first is of course the photo meme. The second is one I hope to start on Wednesday, August 20. I’ll write a special post about all the details but essentially it’ll be held every other Wednesday. I’ll announce a topic on the Wednesdays that it’s not held on giving anyone who wants to participate one week to write a post about that topic. On Wordfull Wednesdays I’ll have a Mr. Linky up below my own post for everyone to link to their posts. More about that on, you guessed it, Wednesday!
Thursday – Love Thursday. That’s all that will be posted on Thursday because I plan on making this the day I work on writing posts for the coming week.
Friday – Homeschool Topics.
Saturday – Recipes. I’ll share a family favorite to add to the online cookbook.
So you see I have been busy behind the scenes here. I want to make it worth your time when you stop and visit. For some odd reason my stats have been increasing steadily over the last month. I’ve had to bite the bullet and pay for extra stat coverage because the free 500 pageloads weren’t even covering a day’s worth of hits on the blog. Shocking I know. An even bigger shocker to me was to see there are 183 of you out there subscribing to my feed reader. Really? I have to admit at times I think, “Why in the heck would anyone care about what’s posted here?” It sure warms my heart though to think that you do care.
Thank you. I’ve needed to say that now two times in the past week. You guys are the best!

Looking forward to the new format. I always like to check in during my morning break between project parts. If I knew how to subscribe to a feeder, I might do that, too. Good to hear you got some time with Mr. F.R. – that’s always good for everyone in the family.

Sounds like a wonderful weekend with Mr. FR. I’m with you on the zipline though, I never used to be afraid of heights, but they are really getting to me more and more.
I can’t believe you’re so organized about blogging. I just write whatever except for a weekly report and WW. I’ll look forward to reading whatever you plan though. You’re a great writer with so many interesting things to say!

Wow! You are way too smart for me! I had to turn off the music on the other tab so I could understand what I was reading! ( what is a stat? )!!! You are such a dedicated blogger!!!

Wow! That’s some good readership you’ve got there! I’ve actually pondered why I am a frequenter of you blog before. We have a few things in common (LDS, kids, etc) but really I think what it is is your persepective. You’re always cheery and upbeat and I like that. (Not to mention the great writing and fabulous photography) And while I can’t relate at all to the homeschooling or farming stuff, those are things that I can appreciate in others. You are clearly a hard worker! So, there, that’s why you’ve got my loyalty.

I remember thinking, “This is a great blog and an incredible woman!” When I first stumbled onto your blog a while back. I’ve really enjoyed everything you’ve written. Your pictures are GORGEOUS and inspiring. I often come away shaking my head and muttering “How does she do it all?” 🙂
I’m so glad to *know* you Cocoa!
