Do you see those super cute leather baby shoes in my sidebar? They are genuine Bugaloo Baby Shoes. Bugaloo was started by Heidi Wells, a graphic designer. And let me tell you the shoes show her talent in designing! They sport whimsical animals in colorful soft leather. My personal favorite for girls are the Gabrielle. I have a daughter that LOVES giraffes so these shoes remind me of her.

I adore the George style for boys. My own little monkey boy would love running around the house in these.

When Special Dark was born I decided to try out leather shoes for him. At first they kept his socks from falling off but as he grew and progressed into the crawling and walking stages the shoes protected his little feet while allowing them room to grow. Leather shoes are recommended over restrictive hard sole shoes by medical experts because they allow a baby’s foot to grow properly. Babies are also able to balance better using the muscles of their own feet instead of trying to balance with rigid soles that do not flex or move like leather shoes do.

Now I know you’ve seen leather shoes all over the internet. Have you checked out the prices for them? Pretty outrageous, don’t you think, to pay anywhere from $25 – $40 for a pair of baby shoes.   119. I admit that my baby just outgrew his leather shoes and is actually walking outside and such so he needs hard soles – but my SIL and BFF both just had babies and these would make great gifts. I love the Clive shoes for boys and the little Mary Janes ones are just too cute for girls!

    I have a 7 month old who is, believe it or not, getting close to walking. I would just love to win a pair of these shoes! Only, I do have a question – is there a wide/extra-wide option? I’ve tried some leather shoes on my son already, and he had to get the XW version of the brand I purchased.

    Anyway, my favorite, and boy was it a hard choice, is the Robyn. I love them all, really, but I also love Owen and Bluebirds a lot!

  189. wow, thanks for introducing me to bugaloo! I love that they’re hand-sewn and that they give to IJM! how cool is that. i was getting ready to buy some robeez, but kept putting it off because of the price. this is a much better solution =) i’ll have to get some extras for friends, too =)

    i like the bluebirds, the best, but i think those might get dirty fast. i will probably opt for sneakers or robyn instead =)

  194. I can’t decide between the frogs, the elephants and the ducks. They are all Adorable! I got a pair of one of the “other” leather shoes because they were free with a coupon, I could Never spend that much normally. I have a 2 year old and I am expecting in Dec. I will definitely be back to Bugaloo to purchase some shoes!!

I love leather shoes and my kids wear them because I think they are best but it’s obsurd to spend more on a baby’s shoes than I spend on a pair for myself!   207. Finding a favorite among all these beautiful shoes is very difficult. The Kitty shoes are absolutely adorable but then again so are the sneakers. I guess if I had to pick a favorite it would be the Mary J shoe. I have a five month old girl so I have been shopping around for baby shoes. I have not seen a more affordable price anywhere else.
