Petite Watermelons
1 small box of red Jello
Cut both limes in half lengthwise. Scoop out all the fruit with a spoon. Place the limes in a muffin tin to keep them from tipping over. Make the box of Jello according to the Jiggler directions. Carefully spoon Jello into the limes halves. Chill until almost firm. Using a skewer push the mini chocolate chips into the Jello for “watermelon seeds.” Chill until until firm, then cut into slices.
You are so clever! My girls are going to love making these.

What a sweet idea!!!
I’ve seen this technique used with oranges and orange Jello, but this is a great way to take advantage of different colors and create something different!
Such a cute idea!! I thought it might be a little too involved, but it’s really pretty simple. Thanks for sharing! 🙂

What a fabulous idea!
oh that’s fantastic! i am visiting from “How About Orange.”
Just a guess here, but couldn’t one just add the mini-chips after a 10-15 minute cooldown.
Hmmm…I have 2 limes and 5 grandkids. Will have to experiment!
Well, I think this is just about the cutest thing ever! My daughter says we have got to make these!
I think this is so cute and am tempted to try it the next time I make jello shots.
So I tried this and they looked great, but…BITTER, BITTER, BITTER!!!! How do you get them not to take on the bitter lime rind???
Well, my kids actually love to suck on lemons and limes so I guess I never thought about the limey flavor the jello gets.
A couple of things to try:
sprinkle the insides with sugar before filling with jello to off-set the sour lime taste
If it’s the rind that is making it sour don’t scrape out the pulp all the way to the lime. (My kids usually do the scraping part so it never gets all the way to the rind anyway).
awesome! so cute i had to share with my followers. hope you don’t mind…if you do just let me know and I can delete. http://www.heathernicoleblog.blogspot.com
Fantastic. My little one is just getting into tea parties. She has a tea set, but now she’ll have something to serve on those cute plates made of recycled milk jugs!

I know this post was written a year ago, but I just had to comment! Here in Australia, a popular kids party treat is “frog in the pond” – a freddo frog (chocolate) in jelly (or jell-o, in America – usually blue).
Anway, I hate when chocolate goes all soggy from sitting in liquid, so I had to interrupt and point out that even better than chocolate chips would be … passionfruit pips! (If you just happened to have them around, anyway)
That watermelon more curious, the green seem lemon peel and red jelly.
I really liked your article. Keep up the good work.
I am also being a part of flowers delivery in kuwait
I found so many interesting stuff in your blog especially its discussion. From the tons of comments on your articles, I guess I am not the only one having all the enjoyment here! Keep up the good work.
I suggest this site to my friends so it could be useful & informative for them also. Great effort.

These are super cute but the lime rinds are too bitter…. maybe press sugar into them first?
