Having the girls help me deep clean a different room in the house every day…….with NO COMPLAINTS!
Reading all 7 Harry Potter books again because it’s spring break.
RAIN! We never get enough rain here in Nevada. We opened the windows and smelled the wet dirt and sagebrush. There are very few things that smell better than sagebrush. Trust me.
Eating homemade German Chocolate Cake with homemade vanilla “cry scream” (Special Dark’s words) to celebrate Mr. Ferrero Rocher’s 38th birthday.
Dying Easter eggs and having the two littlest squeal in delight at the designs that magically appeared on theirs. I had drawn designs on the eggs with white crayon before they dipped them in the dye.
Eating Dove Dark Chocolate brought over by my sister-in-law who remembered that we would have had a newborn this week if I hadn’t miscarried. How does she remember stuff like that? It was much appreciated.
Going for a drive up in the mountains behind our house with the whole family.
Buying almost 50 lbs. of butter because it’s on sale for $1.50 per pound. We’ll be canning half next week. A tutorial will follow. Did you know you can can butter for your food storage?
Rocking out to Supermassive Black Hole. I do have a wild side. ☺

I had no idea you could can butter. Will you keep us posted on how you do it?
That’s a great deal on butter. If I could find a deal like that and knew how to can it, I’d stock up as well!

That was fun to get a glimpse into what made your week better.

So I grew up in Arizona and now live in NC. It rains her quite often and I miss the smell of WET DIRT! People think I’m crazy for loving the smell, but when you don’t get rain very often and when you do it hits dirt…there is nothing better than that smell!

You read all 7 Harry Potters in one week?
Reading this made me smile. I wish I were there smelling the wet sagebrush with you.
Mr. FR and J are the same age.

What a sweet sil…I’m not sure which is more impressive, that she remembered your loss or that she brought the good stuff 🙂
I could go on for a while about the wonderful smell of sagebrush….but this is your blog, not mine. 😀

I love that you have a wild side.

I know what you mean about sage brush. I always lived surrounded by it, loved the smell (especially mixed with rain), but didn’t really appreciate it until I moved to a place that has no sage brush 4 years ago. My children don’t remember sage brush and it is so sad to me. Every time we go anywhere with sagebrush I get all excited and call out, “Kids! Look over there! That’s sagebrush! Isn’t it beautiful?”

Sounds like an awesome week! I love the smell of sagebrush. We don’t have it here around the house but a few minutes away in the west desert, aahhhh . . . sagebrush and dirt and mountains as far as the eye can see. Just space and the quiet of the wind.

I’m sorry you don’t have a newborn this week. But I’m very glad you have people around to help you with tough times like that. I am sending you some virtual chocolate. I’m sorry it doesn’t taste or smell as good as rain or sage brush or well, chocolate.
Cadence says
Ah, you’ve made me homesick. You’re right, sagebrush is one of the best smells in the world. We get plenty of Summer rain down here in AZ, but it’s just not the same without sagebrush…

What a fun sounding week! =) Wasn’t that rain lovely. We sure could use more of it!

Canning butter, how cool is that?!
I LOVE Dove’s dark chocolate, and I am so glad you have some right now. I am so sorry for your loss though, I had the hardest time during the week when my miscarried one would have been in my arms too. ((((Hugs))))
