Before heading back to Utah my dad wanted go take some picture of the sand dunes. Of, course everybody wanted to go. We all piled into the van except for Mr. Ferrero Rocher who had to take a phone call.
Um, we didn’t quite make it to the dunes.
Instead we had an adventure! As Bon Bon so aptly said, “The van is in the mire.”
Ahem, did I mention it was the Sabbath? ☺
Mr. FR came to the rescue.
The passengers having a great laugh. Grandma is trying to look mad.
Once we got unstuck Mr. FR turned the van around.
Er, at least he tried. We got stuck again.
And a tractor needed to be called into service. But we hitched a ride back with Mr. FR’s pickup so I don’t have any pictures of that.
But, guess what? If we had gone straight to the dunes we would have missed some small masterpieces just along the roadside.
These caterpillars were eating away at the brush. Look at the details on these critters!
Good times building fun memories.

Ha ha, why does this not surprise me? If there is a way to get a vehicle stuck, dad will find it. Did you ever hear about the time he got the tractor wedged between three trees?

Ahem . . . what is it about tulee hopping on the Sabbath? My son got stuck, did who knows what to his 4X4 trying to get out . . . and blew his whole transmission. Called Mom & Dad to come get him out. Mom & Dad laughed, hung up . . . .still don’t know how he got out. We do know that he ended up having to replace the SUV. Lesson learned . . . I hope!

Ha ha. My Dad did the same thing when we took him to the dunes in Rexburg Id! I went to school there for 2 years and at the end took him and sure enough, he got stuck! 🙂
It must be a Dad thing!

Thank goodness for handy tractors.
I wish my family looked that cheerful whilst stuck in the mire.
That caterpillar is exquisite. The pictures are superb. You find the small miracles in everything. 🙂
