. . .over on Someone in Mind today. I wrote about some of our family’s Christmas traditions that point our family to Christ. Click on the button to go to the post.
I love the idea of 3 gifts. My hubby and I are trying to go further than we ever have before in our Sprituality with Christmas. I think that we have to keep growing and not be stagnant in our growth so we change everytime we do things. (I would even love to get to the point that the Misfit posted about on her last post!)
Thank you for this post as it did give me an idea to help facilitate that change.
Great thoughts! We don’t do Santa either for the same reason. The 3 gifts idea is fun. I’ve heard another idea to keep it simple,”One thing you want, one thing you need, one thing to wear, one thing to read.”
we dont do santa either! I cant say it was a beautiful reason as yours but our first child was tiny the first christmas, second christmas still young but by 2 and 3/4 old she knew santa wasnt real! (she could talk well and just knew the whole story didnt add up 😉 so we decided to go with it (we hadnt been doing santa anyways and LOVE IT!
however my third daughter after watching some christmas videos is sooo sure santa is real and last year and this year (she’s 5) talks about it alot. We dont lie to her, even remind her sometimes that the presents come from us, but we indulge her little belief (I’m surprised that she can believe it in this house)
we do santa movies, books etc but dont do santa as part of our lives or have many santa decorations (just a couple)
I would love to do christmas school! I wish my kids were more interested. ITs end of school year in australia (school starts up again end of jan/begin of feb) so kids are OVER school work.
