It’s no secret I love to sew. Quilts, aprons, skirts, dresses, etc. keep me busy. I have a HUGE stash of fabric to choose from for all my projects. I have to have a stash. The nearest fabric store is three hours away. {Walmart does not count!} So most of my fabric is bought online. My favorite store to purchase from and the source for most of my fabric is marie-madeline studio.
Run by the beautiful Long ladies, a mother and four daughters, this family owned business has a great selection of high quality fabric, sewing patterns, as well as bags, aprons, and ladies and girls apparel. and their customer service is unbeatable! I have never been disappointed with my purchases.
A couple of years ago I purchased the anaclaire jumper pattern to make dresses for Cookie and Brownie. They turned out so cute! {I wanted to show you pictures but for some reason my camera is not cooperating with my computer. Hopefully I can get it fixed soon and upload those pictures!} The pattern was easy to follow had several different options. Even though my girls have sprouted up the dresses still fit because I made the long option.
Another favorite pattern has been the Street Fair Skirts. I LOVE this pattern! See the one with the detail stripes going down? That’s my favorite. The A-line shape is oh-so-flattering even on my more “robust” frame. 🙂
marie-madeline studio is giving away a $30 gift certificate! What will you buy? Fabric, patterns or one of the custom-made goodies?

I would go with a cute skirt pattern. I can’t seem to find one that I like. I am going over that way now to check it out…
I would get the Summer Shade pattern and a couple yards of fabric.
Wow, you weren’t kidding when you said you were doing a lot of giveaways! So fun for us 1,000 readers. do you get a kick out of that, having so many readers? I would definitely choose the longer Street Fair Skirt. I wear skirts 70% of the time, and love cute skirts below the knee.
Oh I like those skirt patterns too. And would also buy some fabrics.
Oh, do I ever need some new skirts. I would get the Street Fair Skirt pattern and some fabric and start sewing!!
Their fabrics look scrumptious. That’s what I want.
Oh that is tough, they have so many cute thing…..probably so fabric though.
I really like the “Street Fair Skirts” pattern. I really love your blog it really helps me with gospel lessons in our home. Thank You, Andre’a S
I would get the street fair skirt pattern for me and the torrance dress pattern for my daughter. Then I’d need to choose some fabric…. that’s always the hardest part for me!
Fabric fabric fabric – how did I not know about this site? Thank you!
I would choose patterns and then probably fabric unless I choose too many patterns. 🙂
definitely fabric! my sister wants me to make her an apron for her birthday in september, so i would definitely get some fabric for that project.
Oh, I love to sew, too! Your post about your daily schedule inspired me to find time in my busy life to sew again. The Amelia top is adorable!
Sewing machines intimidate me. Many women have tried to teach me, but I get so nervous about it that all I feel confident doing is a nice straight line. And then only if someone else has set everything up properly…I know, I’m a chicken.
That said, I’d go for the custom-made options:)
I want a cute apron!
I would love to buy some adorable fabric!
I want beautiful fabric!
I always have a few little helpers when I go out shopping, so a trip to the fabric store would be a nightmare. So I would go with fabric, and am on the hunt for a patters or two to make matching dresses or skirts for myself and my 3 girls, and maybe a matching tie for my 2 guys.
I would LOVE new fabric. Crossing my fingers…
What a fun opportunity; much thanks. Just to let you know that last month at our family reunion we made (again) your wilding sticks.
LOVE fabric…but really needing some patterns to sew some cute dresses for my new little one!
I would probably get some patterns.
My 16 yr old daughter has just taken an interest in sewing, so I think I’d let her choose what to buy.
I would love to sew something for myself!
I’d definitely check out that skirt pattern. And maybe a woman’s blouse pattern? Then I’d have to see if they have whole bolts available since that’s how much fabric I’d need for my “robust” frame! Ha.
“WalMart doesn’t count!” I already thought very highly of you, but now? You’ve moved right on up to the top of the pedestal. I hate that JoAnn’s is still where my budget is….I’d love to purchase all my fabrics from indie shops….
I would definitely by patterns!!! Or I might buy a bit of fabric. 😉
We live only 30 minutes away from JoAnn’s but we still can’t spend the gas money to visit constantly…nor can my pocket allowance afford that. So I do have a growing stash and I love collecting fabrics from different projects that one day I’ll use for a very large scrappy quilt! Can’t wait! 😀 It’s also nice to have a stash for those spontaneous projects I just have to make immediately. Lol.
Blessings!

I would get one of their custom made goodies!
I need fabric and a pattern. I want to make an apron for me and transform one of my husbands shirts into a little dress for my daughter but I think the best way to go about that would be to modify a pattern rather than just make it blindly!
I would probably buy some fabric. Although I might have to get one of those skirt patterns, too!
I would buy some fabric! They have some great lines!!!
I love the Black, White and Current fabric. I think a skirt pattern too.
Im definately thinking a pattern – loving the skirt pattern you featured here! 🙂
Is this competitions open to Australian residents? 🙂
I would use it to buy a custom made item. I’m running out of time to sew with 4 little ones under 5 and one on the way.

I would buy fabric and a pattern.
I would buy fabric!
I might go with something custom made, considering my mediocre sewing skills. Super cute fabrics!
I have a pattern for pillow cases that I LOVE. I know weird, but I’ve been wanting to make a set for my room and just haven’t. Plus I’ve wanted to try buying fabric on-line and this would be a good excuse 🙂
I would buy fabric and patterns. I love making skirts, so this would be great to win!
I would buy a custom made goody, since I don’t have time for sewing & it is not relaxing to me, so it is easy to push off my plans.
Ooooh the pretty fabric! How fun.
Ooooo… I woild love a pattern and some fabric to make something fun, maybe even for myself! 😉
I’d probably buy a pattern because I need more practice at following them!
I would buy fabric to finish off some quilts I am working on.
I’d buy some fabric, I love to make up my own patterns
I love the street fair pattern and would get some yummy fabrics to match. LOVE those skirts!
I love that skirt pattern–maybe that one, or skirts/dresses for my girls, and some fabric to sew with! I don’t have a fabric store local that I love anymore, so I’m glad to have a recommendation to buy online!
Hmm…patterns for a 7 yr old and fabric-would be fun looking and deciding :). Thanks
I would buy a pattern and seriously look at the fabric. Going to the fabric store with 5 kids is impossible!
Fabric from the Walk in the Woods, Annie’s Farm Stand orDalilah or other….so many cute fabrics. Shuttermom77 at gmail dot com
