Our Christmas cards are done, stuffed into envelopes and ready to mail the next time we go to town {since our mailbox is 15 miles away}.
If you normally get a card from us please don’t read further so you’ll be surprised when it arrives! I am sharing our card, slightly altered to fit the blog.

For our card we went with simple and cheerful on the front.
And showcasing the kids on the back.
My favorite part though is foregoing the traditional newsletter and substituting it for a year-end-review infographic that I created instead. It was fun brainstorming as a family the information we would include. Things that didn’t make the list: miles driven in the fields, pounds of trash created, amount of butter consumed, favorite songs, movies and books, and number of photos taken.
Turned out pretty cute, right? I used the basic template found here at Stampin’ Up and then created some graphics to fit our info – like the tractor silhouette, pie chart, and bar graph.
UPDATED: Turns out Rebecca is very astute and realized there is no way our family could drink 2,920 gallons of milk in a year. While I changed the names on the infographic I have no idea why I fiddled with the numbers too. I think I was distracted by the baby who was also trying to pounds keys on the keyboard with me. 🙂 The real number of gallons drunk is approximately 642 or a little over 12 gallons a week. Also our laundry loads are actually about 1825 loads a year or roughly 5 loads a day. The real infographic sent on our cards has the correct numbers. Maybe I should have added another line on the graph with “How many mistakes Cocoa made this year”. ☺

Those are so cute! Ever since I first saw something like that on Pinterest I’ve wanted to do one. You never cease to amaze me with the things you get done. Someday I hope to learn to manage time well enough to be able to do things like that. Good job!

I love the infographic, so clever! You have a lot of beautiful jewels in your crown mama. Beautiful family.

That infographic is so cute! But there is no way that amount of milk is correct, right? That’s over 56 gallons per week, or 5 gallons per person each week, or each family member drinking 75% of a gallon each and every day.

Ha! You’re right. The actual number is roughly 642 or a little over 12 gallons a week. I can’ remember why I changed that figure when “fixing” the infographic for the blog changing names and such. The real infographic being sent out with our cards does have the correct number. I will blame it on distraction with the baby trying to push buttons on the keyboard while I was trying to work too.

You amaze me:)I just bought boxed Christmas cards last night. Sadly not as fun or personal as what you posted.
Thanks for all the neat ideas this year. We have tried quite a few. So much so that my kids say “Did this come from the Chocolate Lady?” Well yes it did:)Thanks again.

That’s such a clever idea! Love it!

Cocoa, I love seeing pictures and hearing about your large family! It’s so fun. I am from a large family–the 11th of 13 children. There were 8 girls born before my older brother came along, then 2 more girls and my little brother was born. My baby sister holds down the tail in our family. And yes, family gatherings are totally chaotic, and totally exciting all at the same time! (oh, did I mention that we only had ONE bathroom growing up? Can you fell sad for my dear brothers?!)

I love your Christmas card and I think your Infographic is much more fun/creative than a traditional newsletter. So glad that I found your blog, it is delightful!
As a mom and blog author, I love finding new blogs over my morning coffee and am thrilled to have come across yours.
If you have a chance, sneak a peak at mine (lisamgriffin.blogspot.com), I have a free Christmas/holiday gift tag download online that your kids may have fun embellishing. My three spent a festive afternoon decorating tags with glitter, markers and ribbon – love gifts from the heart.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,
Lisa
PS LOVE chocolate and I am not embarrassed to say that I do eat it daily. 😉

What’s funny is I almost chose that card from Minted for our Christmas card but decided our family was so big we needed more room for more information which is why I went with creating my own. You guys have the cutest family! Love those boys!
