I had a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend. We traveled to Las Vegas for a brunch where I was honored as Nevada’s 2013 Young Mother of the Year along with Zan Hyer who was named Nevada’s Mother of the Year. It was fun to travel with the whole family down the back roads of Nevada. Seriously except for the 1st hour and last hour (8 hours total driving) we were driving down two lane highways. Wildflowers were starting to bloom adding color to the scenery. It was a great brunch where community mothers were also honored for their service.
I was asked to write a guest post about motherhood. Here is the link. I talk about changing a soiled diaper and an exchange I had with someone who found out I have 10 children. Unfortunately that scenario is pretty typical.

Congratulations on your awards both in NY and in Las Vegas, Montse. Your page is inspiring. I often use your posts such as aprons on my LDS Pinterest board. I am glad that you had a wonderful Mother’s Day celebration and that the journey also became an educational field lesson for your children. Back road trips teach us so much. Happy Mother’s Day to you. -Annie
