One of my favorite memories growing up is listening to my dad play his guitar while I fall asleep at the end of the day. My taste in music is influenced greatly by that memory. I usually like simple songs with great harmonies. Songs that don’t require too much instrumentation. I like songs that remind me of sitting around a campfire while someone strums the guitar or people gathered around the piano harmonizing while someone plays a song.
Here are a few songs on my “Happy” playlist:

One of my favorite bands is the Wailin’ Jenny’s. Have you heard them? They are fabulous, a three-part harmony group with a beautiful sound and a lot of talent. I love music too. Just wish I were more talented myself. ?

Some of my favorite songs are not really sung by people today. Songs like “In the Garden” and “Jesus Loves Me” there is something about the old songs that talk to me.

My go to musician for centering and calmness is Sarah Hart. She has also written several hymns that we use in church sevices. I love the new take on older type hymns, an updating of faith in a way.
