I was gone to town to do some shopping while all the kids stayed home. Laura realized she hadn’t seen Henry for a while and went looking for him. She found him in his room. Gideon had just changed Henry’s stinky diaper all by himself! Laura saw the ziploc baggie that held the messy diaper. She also noticed another baggie and asked Gideon what it was. He replied, “That’s for my throw up.”
When I asked him later about why he decided to change Henry’s diaper Gideon said, “I need to practice so I can be a good dad.” What a kid!
For Christmas school we talked about Christmas symbols. I held up a picture of an angel. I told the kids that shepherds were herding their sheep outside Bethlehem when an angel appeared to them. I asked, “What did the angel tell the shepherds?”
Jason said, “To stop hurting their sheep!”
As I was taking my contacts out one evening Henry followed me and started jabbering on about John Deere and shoes. Not paying too much attention to him I told him I didn’t have any John Deere boots like Gideon did. He went to my closet and pulled out my orange Converse. “No Mom. Where are your John Deere shoes like this? Bobby (Sara) got them for you!” I started laughing.
“I don’t think you are supposed to be telling me this, Henry.”
We went into the living room where everyone was watching a movie. Henry kept on talking, asking me where my John Deere shoes were. The girls finally caught on and I just started laughing hysterically.
“So, I guess I’m getting green Converse for Christmas, huh girls?”
They all started laughing and yelling, “Henry! It was a surprise!”
Yup, Henry is my buddy. Also, I love how he says “John Deere” instead of “green” when you ask him the colors.
My brother, Pere, and his wife, Jeanne, took some time from their trip to Utah to drive out and visit us for a few days. It was so nice to have them visit!

Love it! I’m so glad I, too, have kept verbatim notes over the years of things my kids have said. So precious!

This little boy is darling! Can we set him up with my grandaughter, Madi, in about 20 years? LOL! This was a sweet remembrance, Montserrat. Loved it. Happy New Year by the way 🙂
