Abigail means “father of joy” or “father’s joy” or “give joy”. And our Abigail has certainly brought us joy! Named after the Abigail in the Bible who was described as “a woman of good understanding, and of a beautiful countenance” (1 Samuel 25:3), Abby has grown into a beautiful young lady who has compassion for others and has a thirst for knowledge.
It’s amazing to me how time truly does seem to pass by quickly. From an almost bald three year old . . .
to a curly headed six year old . . .
to an imaginative freckled nine year old . . .
to an adventuresome twelve year old . . .
to a fun loving fifteen year old . . .
to our beautiful, hard working, seventeen year old. Abby has developed so many talents that will bless the lives of those around her.
She has graduated from high school (she chose not to walk – too much hoopla for her taste) and seminary and will be headed to Brigham Young University – Idaho this fall studying creative writing, music, and horticulture. We sure love Abigail!
