(Scroll down for free printables interspersed throughout the post to remind youth to enlist in the youth battalion of the Lord)
On June 3rd, 2018 President and Sister Nelson held a worldwide devotional for the youth. It was amazing! If you haven’t seen it yet please take some time to listen to it. They gave clear instructions and issued a call for all youth to join the Lord’s battalion to help gather Israel on both sides of the veil. President Russell M. Nelson, the prophet of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, challenged the youth ages 12-18 to do five things that would change them and help them change the world. After specifically speaking of each one President Nelson said:
“Now, let me summarize by reviewing my five invitations for you to enlist in the Lord’s youth battalion to help gather Israel:
Hold a seven-day fast from social media.
Make a weekly sacrifice of time to the Lord for three weeks.
Keep on the covenant path. If you are off, repent and get back on the path.
Pray daily that all of God’s children might receive the blessings of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Stand out. Be different. Be a light. Give to a friend one copy of the booklet For the Strength of Youth.”
Here are some printables to help the youth remember what President Nelson has asked them to do. These can be printed and framed or tucked in scriptures as book marks or even taped to the bathroom mirror. The color schemes are very similar – orange and blue for the young men, peach and blue for the young women.
Enlist in the Youth Battalion Print
Sister Nelson gave some powerful encouragement!
I believe if you could see yourself living with your Heavenly Parents and with Jesus Christ; if you could observe what you did premortally and see yourself making commitments—even covenants—with others, including your mentors and teachers; if you could see yourself courageously responding to attacks on truth and valiantly standing up for Jesus Christ, I believe that every one of you would have the increased power, increased commitment, and eternal perspective to help you overcome any and all of your confusion, doubts, struggles, and problems. All of them!
I believe if you could remember who you said you would help while you are here on earth, or what anguishing experiences you agreed to go through, that whatever really tough situation you are presently in—or will be in—you would say, “Oh, now I remember. Now I understand. This difficult situation makes sense to me now. With the Lord’s help I can do this!”
Sister Nelson then asked the youth to imagine coming to earth with a scroll attached to them titled “Five Things to Do While on Earth.”
First, you came to receive a mortal body. And that, my friends, is a really big deal.
Second, you came to be tested. . .
A third thing to do while on earth: choose to follow Jesus Christ and stand up for Him, just as you did premortally. . .
Fourth, choose to repent daily and partake of the sacrament weekly. . .
Now, here is a fifth item on your list: find and fulfill your mortal missions.
Here are some prints with the question Sister Nelson asked the youth towards the beginning of her talk.
What Were You Born to Do Print
To end the devotional the youth stood and sang the stirring hymn “Hope of Israel”. Watch and listen to the words. It was very touching and moving.
To help youth remember this hymn, as well as some of the things President and Sister Nelson spoke about I created wallpapers for their phones. You can find all the wallpapers in their own post here.

Can these images be used to be printed on
t-shirts?
Montserrat {Cranial Hiccups} says
These are too small for a good quality print. If you’d like a higher quality let me know which ones you would like. I’ve got my working files saved and I can make sure it is a higher quality that will print well.

I would love a better quality print!! Thank you for sharing!!

Could we please get a large file for printing a banner for our youth to sign? We are particularly interested in the file that includes the larger coat of arms and the words, “Enlist in the…”. Need to have it made by the end of the week. Thank you for your talents.

Do you have a way to be able to print multiple copies onto 1 sheet of paper? I was thinking that if I can fit 4 per sheet of 8.5″ x 11″ then they would be the perfect size for kids hanging in their room, locker, or placing in their scriptures….

I am putting this together for my youth next week, and we’re very excited! Thank you for posting this to share! I was doing the code on the scroll and noticed that there’s a symbol on there that isn’t in the key. I looked up the talk and realized it’s a comma, which makes sense why’s it’s not in the key. I think I’ll just white it out for my youth, but I thought maybe you’d want to change that. It’s on the 5th step in the quote.

These are great. Thank you. We are planning on doing this activity at Camp. Can I get a bigger file for the shield with flowers that says “What were you born to do?” Thank you!
Montserrat {Cranial Hiccups} says
You sure can! Look for an email with the image.

I would like the “Enlist in the Youth Battalion” print in a higher resolution. Also do you have it so I could print 2 or 4 on a page? We’re excited to do your Escape Room next week! Thank you for your hard work to put it together!!!
