The day after we got home with Debbie, Laura received her mission call! She was out raking hay when the notification popped up on her phone that an email with her mission call was ready to be viewed.
She sent a screen shot to our family group text. We all got so excited! She decided to stop raking and do a Facetime call with everyone so she could read her mission call. While we all got on Facetime we had to wait for Julie and Gideon, who were also raking, to stop and get out of their tractors and join Laura.

Laura will be serving in the Colorado Fort Collins Mission, speaking Spanish! She was initially scheduled to start home Missionary Training (MTC) on October 9th but a couple of weeks later Joseph, as the stake president, received an email stating Laura’s mission was rescheduled to start home MTC a week earlier on October 2. She will fly to the Mexico MTC the next week.
There are a couple of added elements that make Laura’s mission call even more exciting. First, just like Debbie, Laura will be serving in a mission that her cousin just returned from. Laura’s cousin, Joseph, returned in April from the Colorado Fort Collins Mission.
Second, again like Debbie who started her mission the exact same day as my parents, Laura will start her mission now on the exact same day as my nephew who will be serving in Uruguay! The next set of Ventura missionaries will start on the exact same day again!! How cool is that?
Laura is so ready to serve a mission. She is a bright light. And will do a wonderful job sharing the love of Jesus Christ to all she meets.

This is so exciting! Thank you so much for sharing. I absolutely love hearing missionaries read their call letters. And the little town I grew up in is in the FC mission! But it used to be the Denver North mission and now it’s not as little of a town😅

My son was just married in that temple in July! She will love that area!
